How my video will abide to codes and conventions of a typical music video

How my video will abide to codes and conventions of a typical music video Looking through – the idea of looking through is shown through the use of the video camera and also the use of showing mirrors throughout the piece. Another thing that uses the concept of “looking through” is the fact that many shots are in the view point of the lead singer (when he’s looking around the room at his memories).

There is also a relationship between the visuals and the lyrics. These are illustrative and amplifying as the sad nature of the song fits the sad nature of the narrative, also amplifying as when the song reaches its climax the editing will feature quicker takes – heightening the feeling.

There might also be a little bit of intertextual reference as at one point there is going to be a glimpse of picture showing the face (and just the face) of the erotic icon, Bettie Page. This links to the lyrical line “you’ll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking” as it is shown during that time.

There are also lots of close ups of the artist and the lead singer of the band – this has also been shown typical from my RMA’s.
